The first season of The Nexus is well underway, and I thought we were overdue for a proper reference page for the season. So, here goes!
For those of you new to this series, The Nexus is a series of novella-length fiction, called episodes, ranging between 10k and 40k words each. Each episode has a complete plot of its own, while also contributing to the broader season arc. Unseen World is the first season, and will be nine episodes total. Episodes began releasing on June 14, 2024 and the Season Finale will be released on September 5th, 2025. Release dates are the first Friday of every other month.
So, what is The Nexus?
The Nexus takes place in a fictional city called Arcanum, and focuses on a group of people who call themselves the Nexus Guardians. Why? Well, in part because they literally guard The Nexus, which is basically a giant ball of magickal energy, hidden away in a secret chamber under the old theatre they use as a headquarters.
The Nexus causes any magick performed in Arcanum to be more powerful than it would otherwise be. It also attracts supernatural beings and beasties like a magickal bug-light. So the Nexus Guardians’ job is twofold: They must guard the Nexus itself from harm, but also they protect the city from dangerous magick and monsters.
Every episode follows our team dealing with yet another of these supernatural threats, while a larger threat lurks. Follow the full season to see how things play out with this final Baddie!
